General auto service and repair starts with the concern, the vehicle’s condition, and its maintenance history. The work may range from routine upkeep to diagnosis and repair of related mechanical or electrical systems.

Car repair addresses a specific mechanical, electrical, safety, or drivability concern after the cause has been assessed. The appropriate repair depends on evidence from inspection and testing, not the symptom alone.

Brake repair begins with an inspection of the parts that create, transfer, and control braking force. The findings determine whether adjustment, maintenance, or component repair is appropriate.

An oil change replaces used engine oil and the filter with products selected for the vehicle. The visit can also provide a limited opportunity to check fluid leaks, the drain area, and items included in the chosen service.

Heating and air-conditioning repair starts by separating airflow, temperature-control, refrigerant, cooling-system, and electrical concerns. Testing determines which system is responsible before repair is recommended.

Engine diagnostics combines the driver’s observations, scan data, operating tests, and targeted checks to identify the cause of a warning light or performance concern.

Transmission repair addresses shifting, engagement, leakage, control, or internal mechanical concerns after the transmission and related systems have been tested. The repair can range from an external correction to internal work or replacement.

Tire services cover inspection, pressure correction, rotation, balancing, puncture assessment, seasonal changeover, and tire replacement as appropriate. Tire condition, wheel condition, and vehicle requirements determine the work.

Winter tire installation prepares a compatible set of seasonal tires and wheels for cold-weather use. Inspection, fitment, pressure, balance, and proper wheel fastening are part of a careful changeover.

Wheel alignment measures and adjusts applicable suspension angles so the wheels track according to vehicle specifications. Tire condition, ride height, steering position, and worn or damaged parts must be considered first.

Battery replacement involves confirming battery condition and starting or charging-system behaviour before installing a compatible unit. Some vehicles also require battery registration, adaptation, or preserved electronic settings.

Radiator and cooling-system repair addresses coolant loss, restricted heat transfer, pressure problems, airflow faults, or damaged components. The source of overheating or leakage should be confirmed before parts are replaced.

Exhaust repair addresses leakage, noise, damaged supports, emissions-control faults, and restricted flow after the affected section is identified. The system includes more than the visible tailpipe.

Suspension repair addresses worn, loose, leaking, bent, or damaged components that affect ride, tire contact, steering response, and vehicle stability. Inspection identifies which parts and related alignment work are appropriate.

An auto inspection documents the condition of the systems included in the requested inspection. It may support maintenance planning, a purchase decision, a regulatory requirement, or diagnosis, but the exact checklist depends on the inspection type.

Preventive maintenance uses vehicle guidance, service history, operating conditions, and current condition to plan upkeep before avoidable wear or fluid deterioration creates a larger concern.

“APEX Auto - an amazing staff! I'm the same grumpy woman who wrote on 2nd Time Around Tires. I am MONTHS behind in my review, but Apex is a fine establishment and deserves to get good reviews.

It was early August? (I'm unsure if late July or early Aug), but APEX did a safety check for my 2003 GMC Envoy SLT. Now I was in dire straits. I had come off a horrific six day trip across Canada, four of which were spent in a 'sitting' position as all motels/hotels were filled up due to July 1st Canada Day celebrations.

The bone on bone osteoarthritis had me beside myself with pain, and I was recovering from black mold, which the toxicity of it made my breathing very laboured.

I was a mess, and very humbled - in pain, and grouchy. I do not say this for sympathy. If anything, I am trying to show you what these poor workers at Apex Auto had to contend with.

You know, you go to work innocently planning to put in a good day, then you run in face to face with a wounded, snarly tiger...ho boy! One of those days...

In B.C. we do not have to do safety tests or emissions, so that was a shocker. Secondly, I had just had new rotors and other work done on my vehicle in order for it to be safe for travelling across Canada in (there is the safety of others to consider too - always)

Well, the men found some problems, and I got mad. I had run into three nasty businesses in BC, two of which ripped me off (but thanks to friends for the help to get them to correct it), and what did I do?

Ugh, much to my own shame, I was immediately suspicious and did not hide it. Now, there were two young men that had worked on the vehicle, and I could tell by their reaction (which they contained beautifully) that they had done their best, honest work and were taken aback by my attitude.

I quickly noted it, and recouped, but still, they did not deserve that. I am painting this picture as clearly as I can to show the professionalism, and the maturity, and the overall good public relations that transpired DESPITE this grouchy old woman's attitude.

Now that is saying a lot. Not only must I humble myself to speak these truths, but you can be guaranteed that if this fine team of men rallied around, girded up their loins and stood respectfully, their ground, without showing any slight or disrespect, you can be assured that if you go in there with your pleasant face and good manners, you too are going to come out of it with a positive experience.

The money was tight after a trip like that, landing a new home, and the set up, but then trying to get my vehicle roadworthy, so Apex kindly let me know all the parts I needed to get the work done, which my son did.

Apex did the second inspection after my son completed the necessary repairs, and gave us a clean bill for safety.

Not only is APEX Auto fair, they have an amazing staff. The woman is friendly and helpful; the other two or three men behind the counter are professional, friendly and helpful, and the mechanics are super.

Fair pricing - they have all kinds of parts, or can get them in for you. Thumbs up for the work they do. A humble touch to my heart for the kindness and understanding they showed towards me, although I can assure you, I did not deserve it - but it brought a tear to my eye when I was alone. I was most appreciative.

Apex (staff), thank you for putting up with me, and thank you for the good prices, and quality service. You do Oshawa proud!

B Petroff
2003 GMC Envoy SLT

PS: In all fairness, the day I took the pictures, the place was swamped with orders for "pick-up" for ordered parts. The shelves were full (the pick up shelves), counters were used, and even shopping carts were used. They were BUS--Y!
They actually keep the place fairly clean for an automotive center. Now you know... :))”
