Ever notice that when you need bodywork done, everybody “has a guy”? Then, when you push them for details, no one has actually taken their car to their guy. Suddenly, they’ve “heard good things” or saw an ad on Facebook, but no firsthand experience. So, you’re back to a blank Google search box. Until now… When an unlicensed and uninsured E-bike rider looking at his phone did about $5,000 damage to my 2018 Beetle Convertible, there was one person I trusted for a recommendation: a friend that owns and operates Toronto’s most-respected reseller of exotic vehicles. If it has four wheels, makes grown-men weep, costs more than a (really nice) house and can do 0-to-100 KpH in three seconds, it’s probably in his showroom. I trust the work done by the people he trusts and when I asked where I should take my Bug, I got a text back in under 10 seconds: “Call Roman Ivanyshyn at CSN Martino Brothers on Dundas”. I called Roman and he answered right away. I explained the referral and very quickly told him, “But it is definitely not a Ferrari … it’s a 2018 Beetle”; he said, “no problem, we love Beetles! When can you come in?”. From the moment I pulled-up, the service and communication were excellent. It is immediately apparent that CSN Martino Bros are a team. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional: Roman was clear about the timelines; allowed me to set a schedule that worked for me; and kept me informed as work progressed. A real “gold-star” bonus was that Roman also handled all the “admin” with my insurance company. When, it came time for the big “reveal”, the work was flawless and truly showroom quality. When I picked the car up late on a Friday, I had a chance to chat with a few of the folks that are typically behind the scenes. Andrew stayed late to take me through the work, ensure I was happy with the result and then we just chatted like a couple of car-guys about our favourite exotics and vintage “dream” cars. Later, as I was about to leave, I spoke with one of the Managers (whose name I’m embarrassed I don’t recall). He was about to get into his own car and head home to his family for the weekend, but he saw me and stopped to ask about my car and my experience at Martino Bros. Now, you must appreciate, there was a turquoise Lamborghini behind us, a smattering of Porsches around us, and many more Toyotas/Lexus, VWs, BMWs of every model and he delayed getting home late on a Friday to ask a guy about his 2018 VW Beetle Convertible. That is the kind of care and attention to detail you can expect at CSN Martino Bros – regardless of what you drive, they’ll make it look amazing.
