What Brake Repair May Include

The right service depends on the vehicle and what the assessment finds. An appointment may include some of these checks or tasks, rather than every item listed.

• Brake-system inspection

  Pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, lines, and visible hydraulic components may be checked for wear, damage, leaks, and movement.

• Pad assessment

  Remaining friction material and wear patterns may be measured to determine whether the pads can remain in service.

• Rotor assessment

  Rotor surface condition, thickness, and signs of heat or uneven braking may be reviewed against service information.

• Caliper and hardware checks

  Caliper movement, slides, mounting hardware, and visible corrosion may be checked when they relate to the concern.

• Fluid and hydraulic checks

  Brake-fluid condition, visible leaks, pedal response, and related hydraulic operation may form part of the inspection.

• Warning-light diagnosis

  If a brake or ABS light is present, fault information and relevant sensors may need separate diagnostic testing.
