Passing target: 80% (16/20)
At an unsignalized intersection, a pedestrian is crossing in the unmarked crosswalk on your half of the road. What should you do?
A realistically scaled pedestrian is already crossing inside the unmarked sidewalk extensions. There is no stop sign, signal or officer. The blue car approaches in the center of its lane; a separate enlarged pedestrian detail supports visibility.
Correct answer: Yield and avoid passing a vehicle stopped for the pedestrian.
Why
Yield to a pedestrian on your half of the roadway or approaching closely enough from the opposite half to be in danger. Do not overtake a vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a marked crosswalk or an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection. These duties are stated in 13 AAC 02.155.
