Terms of Service

These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of trustedlocalauto.com(the “Site”), operated from Canada by the team behind Trusted Local Auto (“we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What the Site is

The Site is an editorial directory that lists independent, family-owned auto repair and auto body shops across Canada. Listings are provided for general informational purposes to help drivers find local shops. We are not an auto repair shop, we do not perform repairs, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a listed shop.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site (including contact, listing, claim, or appointment forms).
• Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of the Site without our written permission.
• Attempt to interfere with, disable, or compromise the Site, its infrastructure, or other users.
• Use automated tools to submit forms, including spam, bots, or scripted submissions.
• Impersonate a shop, owner, or any other person.

3. Listing accuracy and disclaimers

We do our best to vet shops before listing them and to keep listing information accurate, but the Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular:

• We do not guarantee that hours, contact details, services, prices, or other listing details are current or correct at any given moment.
• Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement of a specific repair, quote, or transaction.
• Reviews, ratings, and any third-party content are the opinions of their authors and do not represent our views.

4. Relationship between the Site and listed shops

Listed shops are independent businesses. The Site does not employ, control, or supervise any shop, owner, technician, or staff member. Any contract, payment, repair, warranty, or dispute is strictly between you and the shop. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work performed by a listed shop.

Some shops pay for Premium listings or advertising. Paid placement influences visibility, but it does not bypass our editorial vetting standards. A Premium listing can be removed at our discretion if a shop fails our standards.

5. Forms and submissions

When you submit information through any form on the Site (contact, listing, claim, appointment), you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that information to operate the Site, route the message to the relevant shop or team, and improve the directory, in line with our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Site's design, code, branding, original written content, and curated listings are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright laws. Shop names, logos, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Third-party links

The Site links to third-party websites (such as a shop's own site, Google Maps, or partner sites). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we (including our affiliates, contractors, and team) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Site or any interaction with a listed shop. Our aggregate liability for any direct claim relating to the Site is limited to CAD $50.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
