Why may a large vehicle move left before turning right?
At a broad intersection, a long eastbound tractor-trailer B has moved left within the eastbound approach to prepare for a wide right turn. Blue A is behind it in the right lane. A curved curb borders the inside of the upcoming turn.
Correct answer: Its rear wheels track inside its front-wheel path
Why
A large vehicle’s rear wheels track inside the path of its front wheels at low speed, so it needs extra room to turn right. Stay well back and do not enter the space between the turning truck and the right curb or road edge. The illustrated swept area explains the hazard; it is not a turning plan or permission to cross into another lane.
