What should a driver do before entering a roundabout?
A two-lane roundabout. Blue A approaches from the left. Silver B is already circulating. YIELD signs control the entries.
Correct answer: Slow down, pick a lane, and yield to pedestrians and circulating cars.
Why
Slow down, choose the lane shown by signs, and yield to pedestrians and circulating traffic. Also yield to a vehicle at least 40 feet long or 10 feet wide that enters or travels through at the same time or close enough to be an immediate hazard. A car already circulating need not yield to a large vehicle merely approaching. Large vehicles may need extra lane space.
