Sharing the RoadStandalone practice
Traffic is stopped on a road with two lanes in each direction and a 40 mph limit. A motorcyclist carefully moves between the stopped lanes at 10 mph. How should a car driver respond?
Correct answer: Give the rider space and stay predictable; this filtering is legal.
Why
Safe filtering by a two-wheeled motorcycle may be allowed past stopped traffic when the street has at least two adjacent lanes in the same direction, its limit is 45 mph or less, and the motorcycle travels no faster than 15 mph. This does not permit car drivers to share or block a motorcycle’s lane.
