Before driving, how should you position an adjustable head restraint?
Side view of an upright, belted adult in a driver seat. The adjustable head restraint starts below the top of the person’s head.
Correct answer: Top at least level with the top of your head, and close behind it
Why
Before moving, adjust the restraint so its top is at least level with the top of your head and position it as close behind your head as possible. Adjust the seat back if needed. Proper positioning can reduce the risk of whiplash.
