Your vehicle stalls on railroad tracks and you can see a train approaching. What should everyone do first?
A blue vehicle is stalled across railroad tracks. A train approaches from the left; neither has a letter badge.
Correct answer: Get out and move away at an angle toward the train.
Why
Get everyone out immediately. Move well away from the tracks at about 45 degrees toward the approaching train, away from the likely debris path. Once safe, use the blue Emergency Notification System sign’s phone number and crossing ID to report the obstruction, or call 911. Evacuate even if no train is visible; never remain in the vehicle trying to restart it.
