Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
A DO NOT PASS sign applies ahead. No special statutory exception applies. What must you avoid?

Correct answer: Passing another vehicle in the zone
Why
Do not make an ordinary pass in the no-passing zone. Connecticut has specific exceptions for safely passing pedestrians, parked or standing vehicles, animals, bicycles and other listed road users, qualifying slow vehicles or obstructions. They require adequate sight distance, no oncoming conflict and no danger to road users. The sign is not permission to force a pass.
