Passing target: 80% (20/25)
Another driver is following you too closely. What is the safest response?
On a divided road with two eastbound lanes, blue A is in the left lane. Silver C follows A closely, and B is farther ahead. The right lane is empty in the illustrated segment. The opposite carriageway is outside the view. Positions alone do not establish time gaps.
Correct answer: Move right or slow gently to let the driver pass
Why
If a right lane is available, move right when safe to let the driver pass. If there is no right lane, wait until the road ahead is clear and reduce speed gradually to allow a safe pass. Never brake sharply to punish a tailgater. Keep a safe gap ahead and signal any slowing early.
