Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park parallel beside the right curb on an ordinary two-way roadway. How close must the right-hand wheels be?
Blue A is parked parallel to the right-hand curb and faces with traffic. Its right-hand wheels are beside the curb. Opposing traffic lanes have two solid yellow lines.
Correct answer: Within 12 inches of the curb.
Why
Park parallel with the right-hand wheels within 12 inches of the right curb or outside edge of the shoulder. Separate rules allow properly authorized angle parking and specify lawful one-way parking. Keep clear of prohibited locations even if the car is close to the curb.
