Your vehicle is moving through a designated work zone where workers are present beside the roadway. May you hold a phone for an ordinary social call?
Correct answer: No. Handheld phone use is not allowed here.
Why
Florida restricts handheld wireless-device use while the vehicle is moving in designated school crossings, school zones and covered work zones. For the work-zone rule, construction personnel must be present or operating equipment on or immediately adjacent to the road. Specific emergency and hands-free exceptions exist; an ordinary handheld social call is not one.
