Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
An adult driver’s alcohol level is below 0.08, but alcohol has impaired the driver’s normal faculties. Does being below 0.08 make driving lawful?
Correct answer: No. Impaired faculties can be DUI even below 0.08.
Why
Florida’s DUI law separately covers driving or actual physical control while normal faculties are impaired by alcohol or specified substances. A reading below 0.08 does not rule that out. The handbook identifies judgment as the first ability affected by alcohol; even a small amount can impair driving skills. Arrange a sober driver or another safe ride before drinking. Do not use a numerical threshold to decide that you can drive safely.
