Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing uphill at the right edge of a road with no curb. How should you position the front wheels?
Car A faces uphill on a rural road with no curb. It is parked on the right shoulder, outside the traveled roadway. The front wheels have not yet been set.
Correct answer: Turn them toward the right road edge.
Why
Without a curb, point the front wheels toward the road edge. Set the parking brake and select Park or the appropriate manual gear. This differs from uphill parking beside a curb, where the wheels point away so the front tire can catch the curb if the car rolls backward.
