You will overtake a bicyclist occupying your travel lane. What clearance must you provide?
Blue A is behind cyclist B in one wide travel lane. Both face right. No passing route or lateral clearance is marked.
Correct answer: At least three feet, or wait until you can pass safely.
Why
Leave at least three feet when passing a bicycle in your travel lane or an ordinary bicycle lane. If you cannot safely give the required space, remain a safe distance behind until you can. The statute has a separate provision for a physically separated bicycle lane; it is not the situation asked about.
