Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
When parking uphill beside a curb, which way should the front wheels point?
Car A faces uphill with the curb on its right. The small road-profile diagram shows the slope. The car is shown before its front wheels are set for parking.
Correct answer: Away from the curb.
Why
For uphill parking beside a curb, turn the front wheels away so a backward roll brings the near tire against the curb. Set the parking brake; select Park in an automatic, or first gear in a manual transmission as instructed for that vehicle. Without a curb, use the separate right-edge wheel position.
