Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
For ordinary voluntary street parking, may you park along the curb less than 20 feet from a crosswalk or intersection merely because there is no sign or curb paint?
Correct answer: No; the 20-foot rule applies without signs or paint
Why
Ordinary curb or roadway-edge parking is prohibited within 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection even without signs or curb markings. The law has limited exceptions for emergency or official duties, stalled or broken vehicles, assisting them, yielding to emergency vehicles, or another legal authorization. Stricter county restrictions can also apply, so 20 feet is not a promise that a space is lawful.
