Your car has no ABS. During an emergency stop, its wheels lock and it begins to skid. What should you do?
Correct answer: Ease off the brake, then press again when the skid stops
Why
Without ABS, brake as firmly as possible without locking the wheels. If they lock and the car skids, quickly ease the pedal, then reapply it when the skid stops. Repeat only if needed. With functioning ABS, the response is different: maintain firm continuous pressure.
