You stop on a two-way street at a steady circular red light. You want to turn left onto a one-way street carrying traffic to your left. No sign prohibits it. What may you do?
At a T junction, the horizontal one-way street carries traffic to the left. The lower street has two directions separated by double yellow lines. Blue A faces north in the right-hand approach lane, stopped before its line and crosswalk. A’s circular signal is red.
Correct answer: Turn left after yielding to pedestrians and traffic
Why
Idaho allows a left turn after a stop at a circular red signal from a highway onto a one-way highway, unless a sign prohibits it. The origin does not have to be one-way. Yield to pedestrians and conflicting traffic and use the proper lane. This permission does not apply to a red arrow.
