Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
How may a two-way shared center turn lane be used?
A three-lane two-way road has an empty shared center lane. Solid yellow lines are outside, beside the through lanes; broken yellow lines are inside, beside the shared lane. Opposite white left-turn arrows mark the shared lane. Blue A faces east and silver B faces west in their own through lanes.
Correct answer: For left turns, or U-turns where permitted
Why
A shared center lane is reserved for turning movements from either direction; drivers must not travel along it or interfere with another turning vehicle.
