School Zones, Railways & Work AreasStandalone practice
You approach a stopped school bus from behind. Its red lights flash and its stop arm is extended. What must you do?
School bus B is stopped facing left on an undivided two-lane road with red warning lamps flashing and its stop arm extended. Blue A follows B; silver C approaches from the front in the opposite lane.
Correct answer: Stop and stay stopped until the signals end
Why
Stop before reaching the bus. The law permits proceeding when the bus resumes motion or its visual signals are no longer operating. Before moving, check that children are safely clear of your path. Never pass a bus that is still stopped with its red signals operating.
