Under Idaho’s speed law effective July 1, 2026, how are the maximum limits for vehicles with five or more axles and gross weight over 26,000 pounds related to those for other vehicles?
Correct answer: They are now the same as for other motor vehicles
Why
The current statute makes these heavy-vehicle maximum limits the same as those for other motor vehicles. It no longer states the former rural-interstate 10-mph differential. Posted controls, special hazards and the duty to drive at a reasonable and prudent speed still apply.
