Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
A red eight-sided sign says STOP. What must a driver do?

Correct answer: Stop completely at the proper point, yield as required, and go when safe.
Why
At a STOP sign, stop fully at the marked stop line. If there is none, stop before the near crosswalk; if there is no crosswalk, stop before entering the intersection at the nearest point where you can see approaching traffic. Yield to traffic and pedestrians as required, and proceed only when safe. Obey an officer or operating signal that directs otherwise.
