Passing target: 7 correct signs and 18 correct rules
After a highway crash, no one is injured, no hazardous material is involved and no one is trapped. The vehicles can still be driven. What should drivers do about blocking traffic?
Blue car A is still in the right travel lane of a divided highway after a property-damage-only crash. It can be moved without further injury or damage. A wide paved shoulder is available on its right.
Correct answer: Move safely off the traveled portion to a nearby location and complete the crash duties.
Why
As soon as safely possible, move off the traveled portion of the highway to a location as close to the crash as possible. This duty does not apply when the crash involves hazardous materials, injury, death or a trapped person. Exchange information and complete the applicable crash duties; moving out of traffic does not permit leaving the scene.
