Passing target: 7 correct signs and 18 correct rules
An ordinary intersection's traffic signals are all dark, and no officer or other control is directing traffic. What must you do?
A and B approach a junction with blank signals and painted stop lines.
Correct answer: Stop, yield as required, and proceed cautiously when safe.
Why
Stop before entering the intersection and yield to traffic already in it, traffic that stopped earlier, a simultaneously arriving vehicle on your right, and pedestrians as applicable. The current statute also covers conflicting indications. A normally dark pedestrian hybrid beacon has different operating rules; this question describes an ordinary failed signal.
