Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
What must a driver facing a steady circular red traffic signal do?

Correct answer: Stop before the crosswalk or intersection; go only when permitted.
Why
A steady red requires a complete stop at the marked stop line, or before the near-side crosswalk if there is no line, or before the intersection if neither exists. Remain stopped unless a lawful movement is permitted. Indiana permits certain turns after stopping and yielding unless a sign prohibits them; red does not give a turning driver priority.
