Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
A motorcyclist has stopped at an ordinary steady red signal for 120 seconds. No officer or separate prohibitory control applies. What does Indiana's special rule permit if the way is safe?
Correct answer: Proceed with due caution, treating the movement as from a stop sign.
Why
The ordinary-signal exception applies to motorcycles, motor-driven cycles and bicycles after at least 120 seconds stopped at steady red, with due caution and stop-sign treatment. It does not cover autocycles or ordinary cars. The current statutory permission does not require proving detector failure. Bicycle-only signals are governed by a separate provision.
