Which windshield condition is suitable for highway driving?
Correct answer: Clear glass and a working wiper the driver controls.
Why
Maintain a clear view through lawful glazing and an operable windshield-cleaning device under driver control. Since July 1, 2026, the ordinary statutory transparency minimum is 70 percent for the front windshield and 50 percent for the front side windows and specified sidewings. The older manual’s 70-percent front-side statement is superseded; a narrow law-enforcement official-duty exception remains.
