Weather, Visibility & EmergenciesStandalone practice
Your car has working anti-lock brakes and you need to make an emergency stop. What should you do?
Correct answer: Press the brake hard and keep pressing while steering.
Why
Apply firm continuous brake pressure and keep steering toward a safe path. Pedal vibration or noise can be normal ABS operation; do not release just because of it. Follow the owner’s manual for the vehicle’s system. Working ABS braking is different from recovery after brake failure.
