Freeways & High-Speed RoadsStandalone practice
A disabled vehicle with emergency flashers is stopped beside a four-lane highway with two lanes in your direction. A lane change away from it is safe. What should you do?
Correct answer: Move one lane away and pass with a controlled speed
Why
Kentucky’s move-over rule also covers a stationary disabled vehicle displaying a warning such as flashers, flares or retroreflective signals. On this four-lane highway, move to a nonadjacent lane when safe. If the road has fewer lanes or a lane change is impossible or unsafe, reduce speed and proceed at a safe speed for conditions.
