Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
Which statement correctly describes Louisiana’s prohibition on operating a vehicle while impaired?
Correct answer: Being impaired by alcohol or drugs, or having a prohibited BAC.
Why
Louisiana prohibits operating while impaired by alcohol or by a drug, combination of drugs, or alcohol and drugs. A blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more is a separate statutory ground. A driver can be impaired below that number, and a prescription is not permission to drive impaired. Drivers under 21 have a separate lower-concentration provision.
