Passing target: 80% (24/30)
Buildings and parked cars block your view at an intersection. What should you do?
Correct answer: Slow down and edge forward only as needed to see
Why
Approach a blocked-view intersection slowly enough to stop, and improve your view without entering a conflicting lane. Maine sets a 15 mph maximum within 50 feet of and through an intersection meeting its obstructed-view definition, unless traffic controls or an officer give preference to the through movement. The statutory definition considers whether the last 50 feet of approach gives a clear view of the junction and 200 feet along its entering ways.
