You are turning right across a crosswalk where a pedestrian is crossing on the walking-person signal. What must you do?
A approaches a right turn at a green circular signal while a pedestrian crosses on WALK. A separate inset enlarges the walking-person signal.
Correct answer: Yield until the pedestrian has crossed the street.
Why
A pedestrian crossing on the walking-person signal has the right-of-way over a conflicting turning vehicle. Wait and let them cross safely. Crosswalk duties apply to marked crossings and, where applicable, unmarked sidewalk extensions; they are not a blanket claim that every pedestrian anywhere on a road has priority.
