Where should you check for excessive movement when installing a rear-facing infant car seat?
Correct answer: At the belt or UAS path, allowing about 2.5 centimetres at most.
Why
Follow both the car-seat and vehicle instructions. Test for movement where the seatbelt or UAS is routed through the seat; MPI's limit is about 2.5cm (one inch). Its handbook also calls for at least 80% base contact, but follow any stricter model-specific support and angle instructions.
