At night, when must you dim high beams for an approaching vehicle in Manitoba?
Blue A and silver B approach in opposite directions at night. The card says approaching traffic; no distance ruler or beam-change instruction is shown.
Correct answer: Before the oncoming vehicle is within 450 metres.
Why
Dim for oncoming vehicles before they are within 450 metres. Use low beams when less than 60 metres behind a vehicle travelling in the same direction, subject to the regulation's overtaking exception. Use high beams only when conditions and other road users permit them without glare.
