Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
All traffic signals at an intersection are nonfunctioning. A marked stop line is present. What must you do?
Correct answer: Stop at the line, yield to anyone in the intersection, and enter when safe.
Why
At a nonfunctioning traffic-control signal, stop at a clearly marked stop line. If there is none, stop before any crosswalk; if neither is present, stop before entering the intersection. Yield to any vehicle or pedestrian already in the intersection and remain stopped until it is safe to enter and continue through.
