Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
A traffic signal displays a steady red circular light. What must a driver do?

Correct answer: Stop at the proper point and remain stopped until a lawful movement is permitted.
Why
Stop at the marked stop line, or before the near crosswalk if no line exists. If neither exists, stop before entering the intersection. Remain stopped unless a movement is lawfully permitted. A permitted turn still requires stopping and yielding; a prohibitory sign must be obeyed.
