A 17-year-old JOL holder has no special RMV exemption and is not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. At what times does the night driving restriction start and end?
Correct answer: 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Why
A JOL holder may not drive from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. without a parent or legal guardian, unless a qualifying RMV exemption applies. An ordinary adult supervisor is not interchangeable with a parent or guardian for this night rule. Secondary enforcement from 12:30 to 1 a.m. and 4 to 5 a.m. does not make those periods lawful for unsupervised driving.
