Your car has a driver airbag in the steering wheel. Which seat and hand position does the manual recommend?
The driver seat and wheel are empty before adjustment. A separate twelve-number wheel-face diagram has no selected hand positions; there is no driver chest gap or answer measurement.
Correct answer: At least 10 inches from the wheel, hands at 9 and 3 or 8 and 4
Why
An airbag opens with great force in a fraction of a second. Distance lets it fill before it reaches you, and low hand positions keep your arms out of its path. Airbags work together with seat belts; they do not stop people from being thrown out of the car.
