Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You pass this sign on a two-lane highway. Ahead, a crew and equipment are working beside your lane, and a slow pickup is in front of you. What should you do?

Correct answer: Stay behind the pickup, slow down, and watch for workers and flaggers
Why
Orange signs mark a work zone, and Missouri law counts the lanes that lead up to the work area, from the first posted sign, as part of the zone. If you are convicted of speeding or passing there while workers are present and the fine warning signs are posted, the court adds $250 for a first offense and $300 for a later one to the usual fine. These rules protect workers who stand only a few feet from moving traffic.
