Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
Two cars collide at a rural intersection outside any town. No one is hurt, but the damage to the cars is clearly more than $2,000. What must the drivers do about telling law enforcement?
Correct answer: Notify the sheriff or the nearest highway patrol office right away.
Why
If no officer investigates, a written report must go to the state within 10 days when someone is hurt or killed or property damage is more than $1,000. The printed manual lists a $500 threshold for the immediate report, but current law uses $1,000. If the driver is too badly hurt to give notice, another occupant who is able must do it.
