Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
You are driving a family car on a highway. Your adult passenger opens a can of beer and plans to drink it during the trip. What does Nebraska law say?
Correct answer: It is illegal: no one in the passenger area may have an open alcohol container.
Why
An open container means any bottle, can, or other container of alcohol that is open, has a broken seal, or has some of its contents removed. It is also illegal to drink alcohol inside a vehicle on a highway or in a public parking area. The law's only exception is for passengers in a chartered limousine or bus, not for a private car.
