Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You parallel park on a two-way city street that has a curb. What is the farthest that your right-side wheels may be from the curb?
A is parallel to the right curb of a two-way street. Its right wheels are beside the curb.
Correct answer: 12 inches from the curb, parallel to it.
Why
Parking close to the curb keeps your car out of the path of moving traffic and bicyclists. On a two-way road, park on the right side, facing the same way as traffic. On a one-way street, you may park on either side, with the wheels on that side within 12 inches of the curb. Where a shoulder next to the road is available for parking, the law says to park on it and not on the roadway.
