You need to park on a street near the place where it crosses railroad tracks. How far from the nearest rail must your parked vehicle be?
A drives beside open curb space before a set of railroad tracks crossing the street.
Correct answer: 50 feet away
Why
Nebraska prohibits parking within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing, except briefly while loading or unloading. A vehicle parked close to the tracks can block drivers' view of an approaching train and crowd the space that vehicles need when they stop at the crossing. Do not confuse this with the rule for stopping when a train is coming, which sets a range measured from the nearest rail.
