Passing target: 80% (20/25)
Your car stalls on a railroad crossing, and a train is coming. What should you and your passengers do?
A is stalled on a railroad crossing as a locomotive approaches from the left. The tracks and crossing roadway are visible around the car.
Correct answer: Get everyone out, then move away from the tracks toward the side the train comes from.
Why
A train cannot stop in time, so getting everyone out comes before anything else. If no train is in sight, still get everyone out, then call the number on the blue Emergency Notification System sign so the railroad can try to stop trains; the sign also gives a number for the exact crossing. Call 911 as well.
