Licensing & Test ReadinessStandalone practice
You are taking your Nevada drive test. Your phone buzzes with a text message while you wait at a red light. What should you do?
Correct answer: Leave it alone until the test is over.
Why
Put your phone on silent and out of reach before the test starts. The drive-test rule is stricter than the road rule, which bans handheld calls, texting, and reading messages while you drive but allows hands-free calls. During the test you also may not use some safety features, such as cruise control or parking assist. The examiner wants to see that you can control the car and watch traffic without help or distraction.
