Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
You are driving on a Nevada highway when a text message arrives on your handheld phone. When may you read it?
Correct answer: Only after you pull off the road and park safely.
Why
NRS 484B.165 bans typing, reading or sending texts, messages and internet data on a handheld device while you drive on a highway. Reading takes your eyes and your attention off the road, even for a short message. The law does allow handheld use to report a medical emergency, a safety hazard or a crime.
