Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
In a small town, you pass this sign just before a marked crosswalk. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, watch for people crossing, and yield to anyone in the crosswalk.
Why
Pedestrians are hard to see, and the manual says collisions with pedestrians cause nearly 20 percent of traffic deaths each year. Never pass a vehicle that has stopped at a crosswalk, because it may be stopped for someone you cannot see. A similar sign with a bicycle symbol warns of a bicycle crossing.
